Here are my ideas for our social life section of the community:

  1. Chatting:
    *live chat
    *im/pm
    *flash chat

  2. Profiles:
    *pictures
    *class standing/emphasis maybe a space on the profile to show what classes they've taken and recommend?
    *blogs
    *upload video
    *I also think we should connect (optional) to the freshmen and alum or senior a mentor program, only online or if they want to meet in person that's cool too, so when they enter the BECA program they can have support. Maybe they can match themselves or the admin. can match them up?

  3. Links to the online bulletin board for events and etc.

  4. Link to other departments on campus: The purpose for this is so that when students want to work on projects they can interact with students who are in these fields.

Lorena Zuluaga's Idea

As I mentioned before, I think networking is very important. One must build relationships with those in the industry. One must take a chance a perhaps ask someone in the industry out for a cup of coffee. Most people are very willing to let you pick on their brain if you are an inspiring student. In this site, Linkedin, you can find people who you would like to meet or know about. We should definitely use a feature like this, like a directory where you can find peers from classes you have taken.
